Pine

Genus Name:
Pinus

Noble and soft are apt descriptions of the genus Pine. There are two sub-groups: the hard Pines and the soft Pines. Soft Pines, also known as White Pines, are characterized by soft, white wood and light, flexible needles which grow in bundles of five. Hard Pines have harder wood and stiffer needles which grow in bundles of two or three.

All Pines offered at Woodlawn are soft Pines which are most suited to the cultural conditions in the mid-Atlantic region.
