Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Nana'
The modern landscape philosophy is immediate or almost immediate gratification; plant something that grows into full size very quickly. Just as quickly, the plant becomes over-sized. Designing for the future means using slower growing plants. Nana Lutea is an incredibly slow growing shrub, growing only 2-3" per year. The foliage is a rich green with yellow tips in the growing season changing to yellow in the winter. Because of its very slow growth and attractive physique, it makes an excellent plant for rock gardens.
